DOVER, THE BUSIEST PORT LINKING THE UK WITH FRANCE
76 miles south-east of London, the French coast can be seen on a clear day 21 miles across the English Channel. With historical links to the Stone Age and more recently the Roman occupation, Dover apart from the port is best known for its castle, which receives some 400,000 visitors every year. Dover is easily accessible by motorway and high-speed train services from London.
